What is a Primary Care Network?

Primary Care Networks are a key part of the NHS Long Term Plan. Each network typically serves populations of 30,000–50,000 people and brings together a range of services to work collaboratively—GPs, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, mental health practitioners, social prescribers, and more—based on the specific needs of the local population.

  • Improves coordination of care
  • Keeps healthcare focused within communities
  • Supports people to live healthier, more independent lives

Our Core Services and Roles

🏃 First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP)

FCPs assess and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions without the need to see a GP first. They help patients quickly access treatment and reduce onward referrals.

They can help with:

  • Sports injuries, sprains, arthritis, spinal issues
  • Joint pain, nerve symptoms, injections

They do not treat:

  • Post-op physio
  • Children under 16 or housebound patients

GP net earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Filey Surgery in the last financial year was £81,452 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 7 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.

However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earning is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgment about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
